4、and連接的并列主語(yǔ)的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞形式
1）、如果主語(yǔ)是and連接的并列結(jié)構(gòu)，那么謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如：
Mathematics and Chinese are two main subjects in our studies.
China and Japan are near neighbors separated only by a strip of water.中國(guó)和日本是一衣帶水的近鄰。
2)、如果主語(yǔ)是and連接的表示同一個(gè)人和同一事物，那么謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式。
Time and tide waits for no man.在這里，time和tide兩個(gè)指代的都是時(shí)間，所以謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)。
同理：The worker and technician gives us a lecture every week(這位工人技師每星期給我們講課)。在這里worker和technician是指同一個(gè)人，但是如果technician前面也有the的話，那就是指兩個(gè)人，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞得用give了。
5、一些容易誤用的連接詞
either...or、neither...nor和as well as、more than、rather than、no less than等連接主語(yǔ)時(shí)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞的選擇。
1)、當(dāng)兩個(gè)主語(yǔ)由or,either...or,neither...nor連接時(shí)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞應(yīng)跟后一個(gè)主語(yǔ)的人稱保持一致。
Either you or your brother___wrong.這里的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞就是is，跟your brother保持一致。
Neither my mother nor I was there that day.那天我母親和我都不在那里。
2)、但是如果主語(yǔ)后面有as well as,more than,rather than,as much as,no less than等詞組時(shí)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞必須跟第一個(gè)主語(yǔ)保持一致。如：
She as well as her younger sister is a doctor of the mental hospital.她和她妹妹都是那家精神病院的醫(yī)生。在這里，is是和she保持一致的，而不是younger sister。
The pilot as well as two of the passengers has miraculously escaped death.機(jī)長(zhǎng)和兩位乘客奇跡般地死里逃生。
I,rather than my colleagues,am to blame.是我該受責(zé)備，而不是我的同事。
