As a saying goes, well begun is half done. The warming-up part is the beginning of the class, and it is supposed to be attractive and interesting, as well as relevant to today’s topic. Here I use a song to arouse students’ interest, and they cal also sing with me, which will enliven the class atmosphere. Besides, the song Auld Lang Syne is about friendship and in line with our topic. After singing the song, I ask students to have a free talk about their friends as a way to motivate my students and lead to the class naturally.

這堂課的難點是讓學生在實際生活中能夠運用本課所學詞語描述自己朋友的品質。為了突破難點,首先在聽前我講解了1a中有關朋友品質的短語,并讓學生按自己情況為這些品質的重要性排序,這樣給學生輸入了語言素材。然后在聽中讓學生明白可以從相同點和不同點兩個角度描述朋友。接著聽后環(huán)節(jié)學生進行小組活動,運用所學詞組和句型談論自己朋友的品質,經過練習學生就能學著把知識運用于實踐。

The difficult point is how to enable students to talk about qualities of their friends in daily life. In order to break through it, firstly in the pre-listening part I introduce some expressions about personalities in 1a and ask students to rank them and decide which one is the most important. By doing so I input some basic information into students. Secondly, in the while-listening part they learn that friends can be described from differences and similarities. Thirdly, they have a group work in post listening part and use these expressions and sentences to talk about qualities of friends. By doing exercise, students can apply knowledge into practice.
